Name: Alex Gonzales Velasquez

Place of Birth: Managua, Nicaragua

Alex lived in a very risky situation in his house in the city of Managua.  He was physically mistreated by his father and for a while, he was sent to sell ice water on the streets. 

He does not know much about his mother.  What he says is that she was a prostitute.  Alex fled his house because of the abuse he was suffering.  He stayed with a neighbor but he had to sleep on the floor.  Due to these circumstances, he was taken in by CICRIN the 4th of September, 2001. 

This child is very happy and caring.  Alex loves playing soccer and skating.  He has been improving in school and math is one of his preferred subjects.  Alex gets along well with the other kids; he is very tolerable.  For a while, he has been saying he would like to learn to play the guitar and become a part of church praise and worship group.    He is an animal lover and also likes to explore.  His favorite color is yellow. 

Alex has improved greatly while he has living at CICRIN.  He is very appreciative of the help CICRIN has brought upon him and he values the education he has received.
