Christian came to CICRIN with two of his younger brothers due to the extreme poverty in which they were found.  His mother, a young woman who had recently developed cerebral palsy, could not work.  His father had abandoned the family.  Christian often spent time alone with his brothers.  The children were also at risk of abuse from his alcoholic grandmother.

Christian came to CICRIN on January 25, 2000.  Christian is in fifth grade.  He has improved in school since he arrived at the center, whereas before he had a lot of problems with school.  Now he is very dedicated to his studies.  Christian's favorite subject is math and is an active part of the church youth group.  He is obedient, very helpful, a hard worker, and organized.  He helps with brickwork or other jobs at the center, then does his homework, and goes to school in the afternoon.  His favorite color is blue.   

One of the things that Christian most enjoys is playing soccer.  He is on the church boys' soccer team and constantly goes to the practices. He is praying for a pair of soccer cleats and a uniform. 

He is also part of the youth group at the church and desires to serve God in some ministry.  He constantly listens to and reads the Bible. He is very helpful and devoted to the things of God.  When people ask him for help, he is always available.  One of the things that Christian struggles with concerns his height.  He is very small for his age, however he has received counseling, and now he is feeling a little better.
