"Elsita" as we call her at CICRIN, came to the center in February of 2000. Elsa comes from a large family, having six brothers. She left her family because of the physical abuse of her step father. Many times he tried to rape her. The last time she ran to a neighbor who took her to the police to lay charges against him. At that time, Elsa was brought to CICRIN to begin to restore her life.

Elsa has a very difficult time at school and is in grade 2. She enjoys working and is often seen sweeping out the girls rooms. She does her own laundry and puts her clothes away. She, also, enjoys competing in races with the other children at CICRIN.
Elsa attends Sunday school and has opened her heart to Jesus. We are seeing how god is healing and blessing her. She is growing in her relationship with the lord. If we had to close the orphanage, Elsa doesn’t have any place to go. We can’t send her again to her house; she needs to continue at CICRIN, receiving all the love and attention she is receiving now.
