Mario was working in a bakery in the
city of Rivas where he was obligated to do more work than a child of his
age should be required to do. He was not allowed to talk to any member of
his family. He was in that situation for a long time until a lady in the
neighborhood reported it to the government institution that takes care of
children. At that time, Mario and his sister, Karen, were rescued and
brought here to CICRIN.
Mario is in grade iv, the one grade that
is taught here at CICRIN. He is a very good student, and he, also, loves
to help with different chores at the orphanage.
If CICRIN closes,
Mario will be sent back to live with his mother and will lose the
opportunity to go to school and will, no doubt, be sent back to work.
